Moving Week

We arrived in Clewiston in Tuesday to meet our moving van. We were a little late, in the Vincent Fashion, and Charlie (our truck driver) had already unloaded things into the driveway. We arrived to find a very clean home with a new welcome mat and flowers. The freezer, frig., and pantry were also filled to the brim with food and home goods -- a kind gesture called "pounding." I guess this is a fairly common gesture practiced by churches to welcome their new pastor/staff. I personally had never heard of it, but was thrilled with the way in which it eased my work load in trying to find food as week moved into our home and how loved it made me feel!! I would highly recommend it to any church in receiving their new pastor (hint hint Third Ave Baptist!!).

The people at First Baptist Clewiston have been very welcoming. A number of people stopped by on our first day to say hello and see if we needed anything.

Friday night was our first high school football game. Football is big in this town -- unfortunately this year the team is not so hot! We had a blast watching the game and were amused by how excited Benjamin was with the whole evening! He just sat there with this huge grin on his face and clapped! I think we also realized how many evangelistic opportunities we will have in a small town like this!

Joshua, ready to be at work, started his new job on Thursday! He was amazed by the warm greetings he received by members stopping by his office to say hello, chat, or pray with him concerning his ministry. Such sweet people in "America's Sweetest Town."

Benjamin is excited to have his own room. He sometimes doesn't realize where we are and comes out running to make sure we haven't left him alone!

We are thankful to God for his care and protection of us. We are thankful for his many provisions.

Pictures to arrive soon. Internet should be set up this week sometime.
