Slow down Cari.

Today I am trying to learn to SLOW DOWN! I seem to complicate my life when things are "calm!" I have always been a person driven to difficult things... oboe, equestrian sports, taking too many hours in college, having babies too close together, getting married VERY fast... it has made my life, and those around me, nothing but exciting! It also can stress out little children and a husband. (though i believe my husband is worse than I am).

SSSLLLOOOWWW DDDOOOOWWWNN CCCCAAARRRIIII!!!

I am learning to slow down as I read the Word. I am reading 1 Corinthians in my Bible study at church. It is a precepts class and I am loving it! It teaches me to SLOW down when reading my Bible. It is a treasure to read the Bible with great intention and with thoughtful slowness.

I am eager to slow down with my kids as well. Take time to let them get in the car at their own pace...be a bit late places because we are singing as we dress for the day... let them get the mail even though it takes more time because we end up running all over the street to catch the fly-away bills...let Benjamin have more time to wake up slowly... read them book at night even when i REALLY want them to just go to bed...laugh at their silly dances and goofiness when I am on a separate agenda...

SO, help remind me to SLOW down.

Oboe? You play oboe? That's awesome. Claire started learning but quit. She wanted to sing in the choir (sigh...). I thought she was going to be really good at it.

YES...read to your kids at night. That creates major memories. I read the Little House books to Claire, Alice read Anne of Green Gables. We didn't read a series to Philip, but classics and missionary bios (children's versions).

Cari...slow down! You won't kill so many cell phones.

Cari, So sweet to read this from you. I miss you friend and my few but sweet memories of times with you often come to mind. I hope and pray this lesson is sinking in deep for you- and for me too!! So good!

Much love,
in Christ,
