Vaca Lo?

Benjamin: Mommy, can we go to Vaca Lo?
Me: I am sorry hunny, What did you say?
BB: Vaca Lo Mommy! I want to go back to Vaca Lo!!
Me: I am not sure I know what you are talking about? What is Buffalo?
BB: No, VACA LO (with full confidence that this was correct).
Me: I am not sure what Vaca Lo is sweetie. Can you describe it to me?
BB: You know. The place with the big band, the cow walking around, and the playground!! VACA LO!!!!
Me: OHHH, you mean ChickfilA

(Let me explain: While visiting our KY friends in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday, the kids and I stopped by a Chickfila on our way home. It was spirit night and the place had a fantastic high school marching band playing outside. The boys loved it. When we went inside -- which took a bit of encouraging on my part to leave the band -- we played on the playground with many other children and parents who spoke primarily Spanish!! South Florida is predominantly spanish speaking. Suddenly the large walking cow came out to play. BB was terrified. He screamed -- "COW MOMMY!! DONT LET IT GET ME!!!" At the same time the other kids shouted, "Vaca!! Vacita!! Vaca!! (cow in spanish)!! BB now thinks that Chick-fila's real name is "Vaca Lo"!!!

I wish I was bilingual.
