We have experienced a great ebb and flow of emotions over the past few weeks. Saturday night we anxiously watched our friend and pastor Brian struggling for his life as he was flown to a neighboring city via life flight helicopter... we arose Sunday morning and celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ...we shared Easter lunch with wonderful friends and family on our home... we lay awake Sunday night (most of the night in fact) in Brian's home watching his kids, unable to sleep due to great concern for him and his family... Monday morning greeted us with four precious little boys ready to play, a frightening phone call from Brian's wife saying that his condition had worsened, and hearts knowing the need for prayer and rest in God's love for his children and power to heal... Monday night small group helped us rejoice through song (thanks to Jun
The week has continued in this way. Every moment has been a change of emotions. It has been exhausting. Tuesday morning eight angels arrived at my door. Eight sweet women from my church came by to help me in anyway I needed (they knew I had care of Brian's kids)! They seriously almost made me cry with their warm smiles, kind words, and servant hearts! They took over all childcare, did my laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and fed the kids lunch! I took a much needed shower and drank my coffee! Praise God for his church.. she is a beautiful display of Christ's love!
Today we had an opportunity to have a few hours together as a family. The boys and I saw a manatee about two feet from us, caught a tiny flounder, and put a jelly fish in our "treasure" bucket!!! We love Daddy days!!
To update you on Brian: He is doing better today. Please continue to pray for Brian and his family. He will remain in ICU for anywhere from 10-30 days, depending on his progress. We praise God that his life has been spared thus far, and we eagerly await his quick recovery and return home.
