Sleeping King

My sweet Johnny has always had a difficult time sleeping. Mostly since moving to AZ! I am typically up two to three times a night with him... screaming, asking for water, crying.... it is not only exhausting for me, but it wears out the entire family. We have tried everything: no milk, milk, no water, overload on water, sound machine, humidifier, heater, padding for bed, no pj's, pj's, warmer pj's, cooler pj's... you name it and we have tried it. Most of the time it results with the same conclusion: Johnny wakes up two to three times a night, thus does the whole family! Two nights ago we decided to change his bed to the guest room's luxurious KING mattress and down comforter. With high hopes, we told Johnny he was NOT allowed to scream if he woke up in the middle of the night. (I also told him that dreams were NOT real and that he was safe in our home.)

PRAISE GOD!!! i have actually had two nights of full, uninterrupted sleep!!! I think I was so used to waking up a few times a night that i didn't realize how much it had been affecting me!!! Last night he even had Joshua ask to pray that he wouldn't have bad dreams - maybe that has been the culprit all along??!! Non-the-less he has a new room & we have some rest at night (at least for 5 more months!!) :)

Baby Update:
I am 18 weeks this week & feeling great (with the exception of my usual weight gain issue during pregnancy... yuck). Our little man started really kicking and moving this week and at night (like my other boys before him) he kicks, spins, and has a ball!! IT IS SO AWESOME!!! I feel great pregnant. I honestly feel better pregnant than not pregnant, except for the back pain issues and such! We are more than eager to have an ultra sound this friday to make sure he is developing on tract and that everything looks healthy. :)

Cari,

Alessandra, my 20 months old, wakes up every night like John used to do. I am desperate! I have tried everything too but nothing seems to work. She sleeps all night as long as I am with her. But she moves so much when she sleeps that it is impossible to share the bed with her.
I am glad to hear that the new baby is doing great! When is your due date?
