We decided last minute to take a vacation to California. The week began on Sunday afternoon with a lovely drive along the Mexico/Arizona border! I have to admit it was strange having check points where our car was sniffed by drug dogs leashed by armed guards, but the drive was scenic and beautifully diverse.
The highlight of the week was a visit to a Maritime Museum on the San Diego Bay (after Benjamin begged for two days to have a "boat day"!! Two submarines, three sail boats, and a bundle of other nautical memorabilia occupied our entire family for the whole morning (plus a SECOND visit before we retired for the night)! IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!
