Happy Birthday my Sweet Boy!
Johnny entered this world on March 17, 2008. He was 9 lbs. Yes, 9 lbs. Johnny is named after some very special people:
John:
John E Brandt III: my father. If you know my father then you totally understand why our son carries his name. When I think of my Dad here are a few things that come to mind: leader, godly, kind, patient... attributes we pray Johnny will look up to and imitate.
William: This name is rich in history! We initially planned on calling Johnny - John William - because we wanted him to bear both names due to the people who he is named after. This might be his common name again one day and I hope so!!
William Thomas Vincent: Joshua's Dad. Mr. Tommy LOVES his grandchildren. He is kind and gentle with them & always makes them feel treasured! Our boys adore him!
William Nettles "Doc": Doc is like an fabulous uncle to our family! He has been a mentor and Spiritual leader to Joshua for many years & has a special place in our hearts. REALLY wish we lived closer to this Godly family, but are thankful for their faraway influence and wisdom!
William Kynes "Will": Another William who lives way to far away (far across the ocean in fact), but he continues to be one of joshua's dearest friends! He is one of the first people joshua wants to "talk" things over with. A dear friend and source of companionship during seminary - there were many late nights spent in prayer & discipleship between these two! His sharp mind constantly seeks wisdom from his Creator & we are eager to see what God does with his many gifts!
Though Johnny is named after these great men, Johnny is an individual created by God. Johnny is a treasure. I am thankful everyday for the way God created him and the wonderful attributes I see in him daily - he is kind, tough, sensitive, laid back, active, brave, fearless, loving, coordinated, likable, intelligent, articulate...
He loves his big brother more than anything (ok, maybe his mommmy). Johnny gives the best hugs, is not scared of anything (this can be good and bad), is beautiful, and has so many great characteristics! He is captivated by pirates, knights, and castles. He loves going shopping with me on Monday mornings (we go to the thrift store) & now he finds things and says, "wow, cool mommy look at what I found! You have to see this mommy!!" Johnny is not a complainer. He has a hard time leaving his brother & he would jump through hoops for his favorite friend and cousin - Brandtksy Man! He is totally excited to meet his little brother!!! Praise God for these boys in my life. They are a joy and I love them to pieces!!
