Where have we been??

Where have we been?...

Almost a year ago we scheduled to be gone on a vacation for two weeks over the Holidays. We had tickets purchased, plans made, and hearts eager to "get out of here!" as we had planned to see our family, the beach, and get some much needed rest; however, as life tends to surprise us, we were unable to make that trip this year. :(

So, 'where have we been?' you might be asking? At home. We have had one of the most amazing vacations of our marriage thus far. The Lord, in His remarkable goodness and perfect wisdom, allowed us to experience a wonderful vacation at home! Just the five of us. I put down my computer. Josh put down his phone. Joshua and I shared many date nights. We had family adventures & late night ice cream runs. We got to drive to church ALL TOGETHER!!! (that is a huge deal for us pastor's wives). We all five snuggled in bed together and watched cartoons in the wee hours of the morning. We read books, learned hymns, talked about Jesus's birth, took naps, played outside, watched movies, went shopping, had family fun nights...

I love my family. Joshua and I had really missed one another! I am not sure we realized how much so. We reconnected. We were still. Quiet. We stopped rushing and just enjoyed each other.

It was perfect.
