Therapist's note.

Many of you know that I work with children on a weekly basis as an occupational therapist (OT). You may be thinking, "Why? Kids don't have jobs!" Actually they DO if you define occupation as the skills needed for the JOB of living. A child's job is to learn, play, and grow (among other things) and as a occupational therapist I help kids who have their "jobs" impacted by a physical or mental impairment. I love my profession!!!

So, with all that said, here is my OT tip of the Day!

I recommended a new crayon that Crayola has come out with that is triangular. This is a great writing tool for those kids who are just learning where to put their fingers while writing/coloring!!
I also love the Start Write colored pencils from Crayola. Theses are a little over 4 dollars, but worth it because they last a long time. They are slightly bigger than a pencil and have a great shape for little fingers learning to write.

Both can be found on the Crayola website.

Have a great Sunday afternoon.

THAT is so cool! What a great way to teach them to hold it properly. I love it! Now I want some!
